freedomIn unity there is strength and a lot more achievement is a common and age old adage that we have heard time and again. And we all need to be reminded about this from time to time. While books and other forms of literature do work as reminders, the most effective tool is practical experience. It is for this reason that companies organize training programs in areas such as team building. The trainer or facilitator of the program not only gives theoretical explanations or conducts discussions on team functioning, but also carries out various activities on effective team building. These are fun, and yet with important underlying factors that encourage the participants to look deeper into the topic of the day.

There are various team building activities that can be employed during such workshops. Given here are couple of effective activities that have proven to be rather successful at workshops…

Lowering the helium stick : a group is required to use they're index fingers to lower the stick to the ground. It is a rather tricky as the stick tends to rise rather than go down. It requires team work and strategic planning in order to achieve the goal.

Blindfold hunt : This can be executed as an indoor or outdoor activity. In this various object are scattered around and one participant is blindfolded and his/her partner is guide him/her to the objects, verbally.

Story narration : Each member of a group is given a pictures, which is not revealed to the others. As each member's turn comes they have to unfold the picture and contribute to the creation of a story based on all the pictures held by the members of the group.
